Dear Brethren,
Thank you for your prayers over the past couple months. January and February have been very busy, and it doesn't seem like it's going to let up any time soon. Early in January Jack, myself, and nurse Sarah Higgins headed to Cameroon for two weeks of ministry. Our dental team joined with Dr. Loescher, Ellen Doyle, and Holly Broadwater to form the back bone of the Dental and Medical mission into the Akwaya region. This medical and dental team was complemented by a small band of pastors and preacher boys. In Amanavile we were greeted by those who had been at the clinics last year. What a blessing to learn that some of the believers are meeting regularly for Bible studies. Sadly, few of that group know how to read. Those who can read are attempting to teach the Scriptures, but it seems to be a feeble effort. Pray for the Lord's supply of leadership for the folks at Amanavile. A number of new believers were added to this group. It was wonderful to witness the hand of God at work in the lives of individuals who were being saved.
In the town of Akwaya we consistently had 200 to 250 people at the clinic each day who came under the sound of the gospel. Seven years ago GDMMissions participated in a nine day medical and dental evangelistic clinic in this area. At that time, land for a church was donated by the village chief and a tiny church was born. What a blessing it was for Jack to preach to a group of about one hundred people who had gathered on that same plot of land for the Sunday service now seven years later.
In February we had a team of six ministering in Hermosillo, Mexico. Each returned with wonderful testimonies of God's working. The team was encouraged to see a church born as part of the fruit of GDMMissions ministry. Four years ago, members of the mission along with students of the Ebenezer Practical Institute worked for the first time in San Bosco in the middle of a public park. The next year we worked again outside, treating those who were invited to come. The next year a tiny church had been born and was meeting in a small home. This year we rejoiced to see that they had outgrown their first location and were already outgrowing their second one with the attendance of eighty-eight people for Sunday service!
On March 13th we have another team departing for Monterey, Mexico. Pray for protection and fruitful ministry in one of Mexico's largest cities.
April holds a number of missions conferences including NBBC's. In May, Emily and I look forward to serving in the Philippines. Please pray for licensing approvals that still are pending. Our application has been approved by the Department of Health, and by the Philippines Regulatory Commission, but still needs to be approved by the Philippines Dental Association.
Thank you for your faithful support of the Lord's ministry through us.
In His Grace,
Bryan & Emily Bell |
